I agree with u the sense that marathon is never going to be connected with the halo story... for good, anyway for me they take place in the same universe, but then again I want to ignore the facts that contradict both stories. If bungie was to release another marathon it better be a new marathon, say like rubicon, after the events of marathon 2(not counting infinity cos, as far as I go, it is kind of a 'what if' and marathon story officially ends in m2, I think) and about the sacking of the pfhor empire. And even if they did sth like this, it would not feel like marathon... they would have to change many many many things to it in order to make it a groundbreaking game, and not so much of a halo remake with the marathon name on it. So yeah, they better do a new game not related to marathon nor halo.
