Tempus Irae on Mac OSX

I am encountering a freeze at the very beginning of the chapter "Hostile."
In OS X on either Mac I have- an Intel iMac and an old 500 Mhz G4 Quicksilver.
Can anyone help me figure out how to get it going right? When the level is supposed to begin, I hear the sound, but no view, and nothing moves or responds to keys/mouse.
Greatly appreciate your help!
