As Hamish observes, that reply to "remember" makes the most sense after the second meeting remark ("I remember now..."), which would mean that he's dimly recalling his previous conversation with the player.
However, "remember" is used twice in the response to "name" and again in "mission," so it's very easy to trigger before that.
