In Response To: Re: The politics/philosphy of mapping (RyokoTK)

: WHY IN THE NAME OF BLUE FUCKING HELL DID CHRIS BRING BACK LOOKERS? Great.
: We're on the Pfhor homeworld, and so Lookers and Wasps probably deserve
: ample representation, because they are Pfhor to some extent. But they're
: not fun! Ever! Getting surrounded by Lookers on Hex Level 73 and
: invariably losing a bar and a half on a level with only two 2x cans is
: not a fun way to lose -- it's just annoying. I hate having to stare at the
: ground. I hate it. It's not fun. At least Simulacrums aren't almost
: completely invisible unless you're looking at the floor.

Well, in Chris's defence, you can hear their distinctive chirping when they're active or when they're close by, so it isn't as if you always blindly run into them. And sometimes you can use them against the Pfhor when you kill them.

I also have to echo other posters who rather liked the muted colour palette of Rubicon's textures. I also find bright splashy colours in Marathon rather hard on the eyes.
