Sounds like a good policy. I don't want to obligate anybody to replying on this thread, but I'd sure appreciate the perspective of the more experienced/talented mappers out there. I've collected the criteria for RyokoTK's netmap contest...I'll also keep digging through the archives on this forum looking for similar discussions. Here's what I really wanted to put down earlier. I'm making my way through the Salinger plank in RX, and just like the first time I played Rubicon I am totally enthralled with the levels...maps, monster placement, lighting, textures, everything just blows me away completely. It's because I feel like I'm actually walking around a real place. So, I guess I'm saying that a sense of authenticity is an important aspect of map design in my book. How important is this to other people?
