: We all remember this terminal from You're Wormfood, Dude:
: I am Arther Frain, Chief Petty Officer, USEC Marathon.
: Arther Frane calling all USEC personnel
: Calling Cmdr. Robert Blake...
: Calling Security Chief Jones...
: Arther Frain calling any USEC controlled ship in vicinity...
: Station hull breached, we are losing pressurization. More than half the men
: are without vacuum suits. Patrols reporting intruder, last location
: unknown.
: Any USEC controlled ship surviving nova event, transport when ready.
: Arther Frain calling.
: That is all...
: So my question is this - other than the contingent from the Marathon whom
: Durandal brought to Lh'owon on Boomer, was the UESC at the battle of
: Lh'owon? The reason I ask is that this quote terminal has always troubled
: me. All of the references are presumably to people from the original
: Marathon. But what about the reference to "Any USEC controlled
: ship"? And why did he use USEC rather than UESC? We know from M2 that
: Durandal returned to Earth after the events of M1 before he began his
: quest for Lh'owon, but he kept all the original Marathon crew members in
: stasis and woke them only when they had arrived, as he did with us. He
: gave the UESC the technology for warp-capable fusion rockets, which they
: could have presumably eventually used to build space ships, but it doesn't
: seem logical that they would have made it to Lh'owon. But Arther Frain
: clearly refers to "any USEC controlled ship". What other ships
: were there besides Boomer or the Rozinante? Did Blake's men manage to
: commandeer other Pfhor ships? Was this something unique to this particular
: failed timeline? Or did they somehow manage to contact earth and summon
: help. Or maybe Frain was just calling out in desperation. What do you
: think?
UESC/USEC. Maybe it's just a typo
