Marathon online. Some questions.

Ok i know there are other posts and things about this but i still got some big questions.

How to play Marathon online?!

I got a mac so.. but..

Is it just a patch i need to download to make it multi-player-able?
Do i need a whole new program?
Do i need thousands of IP-adresses?

Im only 14, so i wont understand everything. I'll do my best though ( Marathon is a wonderfull game! )
