Yeah, maybe if we all weren't such good shots we could hear the noice of the teleport without it being covered by the sound of dying baddies ;)
I think this is feasible, and the action we see merely cocks the hammers. In this case, the shells would somehow be ejected possibly through recoil or a blowback mechanism, who knows, maybe they just fall out of the bottom of the thing...who's ever seen the underside of a WSTE-M?
