: I think the problem with ever being able to characterize the shotgun is that
: whatever anyone comes up with is really practical. Why spin the shotgun on
: an axis when you can just pump it?
: Any double-barrelled pistol-grip shotgun is strange enough, but having a
: break action animation AND an ejection port make no dang sense. I know
: it's the future but having any sort of autoloading function on a
: double-barrelled shotgun of that size and configuration is near
: impossible. I think the problem is not that the workings are so
: mysterious, but that as a weapon it is a strange, possibly uninformed
: design...
yeah and the fact that the player can shoot from both barrels without breaking his arm indicates that he has some pretty strong arms. :P
Ok, this is kind of a long shot, but like we see in the animation, there is NOTHING that indicates the shells being placed into the shotgun. (well i haven't looked at it very well but this is by memory) nor any auto-reloading mechanism. unless he got some Equalibrium loading mechanism, (that's a movie, and they had some nice mechanical arms to reload their guns, hehe) But what if the shots actually get teleported into the gun? I mean from what i can see the teleportation system was pretty advanced on the marathon so this is at least a possibility. if the player had some minor teleportation equipment in his suit. The only thing that points against this (well at least the only thing i can think of) is that there is no teleportation sound when you reload your shotgun :P
