: Oh, I see, interesting. You didn't take it as a literal, there were corporeal
: Jjarro that watched the events of M1 unfold as much as there were remnants
: of their civilization and tech there. That opens up a whole other line of
: questioning going back to the quote from the Inifinity epilogue about
: being "grafted to machines your creators didn't understand."
: What if the UNSC knew there was an ancient advanced civ out there, either
: from PiD or coming across other ruins, then did they choose Tau Ceti as a
: destination because of the Jjarro ruins there? Is that why they assigned
: Strauss to the Marathon?
Yes, I took it the same way - that there may have been ruins, or at most recently ( < 800 years old ) abandoned facilities - perhaps a base of operations for the Jjaro that warned Earth about its dormant Wrkncacnter in the 1990's.
I'm sure the Marathon was sent to Tau Ceti by sheer virtue of it being the nearest solitary G-type star and nearest star with multiple planets, as far as we know here in 2019.
Where does the Strauss-Jjaro connection comes from? Is that just your headcanon, Pforrest, or is there something I've missed?
