You know some guy out there uses the same email address and password to log into his bank as he uses to post here. This is just one of the reasons it's critical to secure every site that accepts a password, including this one. I don't think it's harsh at all, now that certificates are (for most sites, but maybe not this one) so easy to acquire and install.
