You know I hadn't actually thought about Metis' client's situation after he gets rescued as much bigger things immediately start happening and then soon thereafter almost everybody dies so it doesn't really matter, and Xio does have other means of knowing where Metis is (Kron is basically holding her hostage from him, or using her as leverage against him at least, so he reaches out to Xio to talk to him), but having the client mentioned somewhere in the context of that might wrap up his part of the story a little nicer.

Which business? Sue lead the Orc chieftain to the Gem of Ice just to help calm things down in the West, to improve on the status quo of Warlock warlords ruling over and fighting betwen each other. Tom wanted the good king of Chalmany to get the Gem of Fire so that nobody else did. Nobody was trying to get an Elf and a Vampire together to release the Queen of Hell or anything.

They are original uncorrupted avatars who, until they die in the Meantime of the Darklight, remember all the way back to when they were incarnate humans beta-testing Virtuality. They were there when the Queen of Hell was free before and know that it's a bad idea to set her free again but with lots more power.

That is an interesting idea that I will have to mull over some more. I kinda like it.

I figured that there was not enough time for him to be really properly corrupted by the Gem of Ice just over a decade or two. It took thousands of years of influence to turn the Old Ones into Vampires and Elves.

Deedee is a deprecated name now, she's Xiuying/Xiu/Sue (and her art style, Xiu Dao, is the origin of "Sue Do", whence "Pseudo"). (I know that still shows up somewhere in the high-level Virtuality summary I have, but it will be replaced when I finish going over that in November.)
