: Not enjoying it, I'm sorry to say.
: I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing. I found some invincibility and
: killed all the big robots, but there doesn't seem to be anywhere to go
: besides the arcade.
: Problem with the arcade is that the third game is terribly designed and I
: don't think I'll be able to beat it. Aside from the fact that literally
: half the time the third arcade game crashes on me, you have to shoot
: switches while being pushed around a track with no control over movement.
: Only one switch shows up at a time and they're placed in such a way that
: they're really hard to hit, so if you miss you just have to wait, going
: around the track for a minute or two just to have a second chance. And the
: first switch is placed behind you when you first start so right at the
: start you're forced to go around the track one time before you even have a
: chance to take a shot at the first switch. Maybe this was the way the real
: world arcade game was designed (each arcade game in Erodrome is based on a
: real world arcade game) but keeping it this way for this Erodrome level is
: just cruel.
: And I still have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing in the regular level
: anyway. Thumbs down.
That actually sounds like my kind of scenario: extremely nonlinear, explorative and heavily puzzle-based like HeXen wads and filled with interactive stuff like Duke. Throw in Marathon's narrative devices and you have a recipe for win. So now I'm convinced to download this.... next year maybe (meaning in a week).
