Whilst we're talking of universe-melding, a two-sided Halo/Star Wars* chunk of speculation. Namely, that the Forerunners were trying to replicate a bit of home with the Flood. (Why else would you make something like that, let alone hold on to it?). Or the Star Wars Galaxy is what happens when the Flood infects everything (Doesn't it get less coherent the bigger it gets?). Or both (circumstances are cyclical). Any merit? Or prior art on the subject of Halo/Star Wars?
*Disclaimer, haven't actually played Halo and its ilk, going off half-remembered wikipedia articles. Not exactly a Star Wars expert either, remembering something about the Vong or something and their Force-immunity.
