Hi everyone,
I've been working on a Pathways into Darkness clone for Windows over the past several years. The project has reached the point where I feel comfortable demonstrating it to the public.
The Pathways into Darkness engine has been entirely re-implemented from scratch using information gathered by the Pathways community. The engine has support for the Pathways 2.0 game, A1 demo, V2 demo, and as a test of flexibility I am attempting to port Marathon Zero to my engine!
While code is completely new, the content used to run the game is ripped from the original. I have attempted to contact Bungie in the past regarding this grey area (Pathways has never been officially called abandonware) but I never received a response.
My goal is to release a mod tool to allow player to create at the very least custom maps, but ideally also custom sounds and textures.
Thanks to the efforts of this community I have had access to enough information to make this clone. I'd like to personally thank the following people for their in-depth analysis of the original game:
