The whole thing's available as open source now, so why wouldn't it be? I imagine that as long as you included a GPL notice in the package, it'd be kosher.
Actually, probably the best thing to do would be to send the modified files to the dev team, so that they could incorporate the fixes into the official distribution, and then everyone could enjoy them. This is open-source software, after all.
