The proposed terminals could, at best, make you briefly question which side is good and which is evil. The final terminals make you question whether good and evil are relevant, or even knowable from inside the system. Quite the difference indeed.

Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason. Of course Marathon's story concluded with the release of official editing tools. No other ending would be satisfying.
