: Like Durandal, my feelings towards these videos constantly migrate between
: binary opposites. I am alternately humored and pained at how bad you guys
: are sometimes. I have noticed some improvement in the dodging skills,
: though. And I must say, punch killing a cyborg was really nice. But I was
: disappointed you didn't include the post carnage report at the end - I was
: looking forward to seeing how many times you each died.
It's just a question of the production pipeline. When we were doing traditional screen capping, it takes 4x as long to capture all four angles as it does to play the level, but this method gets us the carnage screens. Using the "export to mp4" option in the beta, we lose the carnage screens, since the mp4 export stops before those are displayed, but production goes significantly faster-- the engine plays back the film, frame by frame, to the mp4 file faster than 100% speed, plus the computer I'm recording on can be used for other tasks during that time. While doing a screen cap that's not possible without messing up the video feed. We could add the carnage screen, but that means replaying the game film in its entirety a fifth time just to add a few seconds to the episode. I'm not sure it's really worth it, but if enough people ask maybe we can.
What I'd love to see is a ProRes output option to eliminate some of the compression artifacts I'm seeing now on some scenes that were not there when we were doing the screen caps.
