One thing I learned a long time ago -- when you have a stable Windows install, don't fuck with it unless you have to. When DX9 is no longer enough for the games I want to play, then I'll upgrade to Windows 7. :)
About my RAM, I actually make good use of that fourth GB. I have my disk cache located on my ramdisk, so Windows is using more than 3GB of memory in spite of itself. It is a pretty clever kludge, if I do say so myself. ;)
