That would seem to be exactly what is happening.
Feature request? :)
Sounds non-trivial, though. It seems to me that a film must actually contain much more game state information than a save file, which probably only needs to cover the current state of the game world, and not how that state was arrived at.
Is the data in a film file sequential?
If the app could be told to start recording actions when resuming a game, could two film files be concatenated?
