Ok, I think we're misunderstand each other even more than either of us thought. Your method of "time travel", if I understand you, it just resetting everything in 3D space to how it was in the past - not actually moving along any sort of temporal axis? If that's what you're thinking, then I'll agree that hypertime is not necessary for that sort of "time travel", but then I would argue that it is not actually proper time travel at all. It's the illusion of time travel, the same as changing your surroundings without actually moving is only the illusion of motion (like, say, sitting in one of those Universal Studios rides with the surround-screens and the tilting seats, that feels like a roller coaster but actually go nowhere).
So if I understand you right now, and your "time travel" is just putting everything back the way it was without actually moving in any sort of temporal axis, then no hyper-time is necessary - A1 happened, then B1, then C1, then D1, then you "rewind" (without actually travelling at all) to B and make it B2, from which follows C2, D2, etc. But I'd be extremely hesitant to really call that time travel at all; and to actually move along the fourth dimension, which is all I'd be willing to call real time travel, necessarily implies some sort of hyper-time to make any sense.
I'm also curious: what have identity and free will to do with this, in your model?

If that's what you're : thinking, then I'll agree that hypertime is not necessary for that sort of : "time travel", but then I would argue that it is not actually : proper time travel at all. It's the illusion of time travel, the same as : changing your surroundings without actually moving is only the illusion of : motion (like, say, sitting in one of those Universal Studios rides with : the surround-screens and the tilting seats, that feels like a roller : coaster but actually go nowhere). : So if I understand you right now, and your "time travel" is just : putting everything back the way it was without actually moving in any sort : of temporal axis, then no hyper-time is necessary - A1 happened, then B1, : then C1, then D1, then you "rewind" (without actually travelling : at all) to B and make it B2, from which follows C2, D2, etc. But I'd be : extremely hesitant to really call that time travel at all; and to actually : move along the fourth dimension, which is all I'd be willing to call real : time travel, necessarily implies some sort of hyper-time to make any : sense. : I'm also curious: what have identity and free will to do with this, in your : model?
