Maybe somebody's already noticed this, I dunno. Marathon Infinity is a decade old, now. But for what it's worth: "go ahead, you couldn't possibly have killed more than none." This is a line from the secret Double Aught terminal on Aye Mak Sicur. It's also a reference to Neal Stephenson novel The Diamond Age, or more specifically a story told to Nell by Dinosaur, himself a character in The Young Lady's Illustrated Primer. The actual quote is as follows:
Earlier, we lear about the mathematical system of the ants: In ant arithmetic, there are only two numbersL Zero, which means anything less than a million, and Some. Yeah, yeah, I reread all the terminals from all three games and this is the best insight I can come up with. Thought it was interesting, though. |
