I was checking my status on PiD when I noticed a bill on the floor besides the desk. I picked it up without pressing the OK button on the computer's dialog box and put it where it belongs. Then I heard an eerie voice say: "Alert... Body Count... Accuracy..." It was English Speech Recognition reading the dialog box's content.
It strike me odd that ESP started to read with the word "alert," since it's not present in the dialog box. I typed control-carnage again and left the computer idle for ten seconds. ESP read: "It's not my fault... Body Count... Accuracy..." I figured out what was going on and repeated the operation to see how many phrases Bungie hid in the dialog box. They're:
* Alert
* It's not my fault
* Blast
* Pay Attention
* Oh dear
* Rats
* ? (I'm not sure--sound like a typo)
* Attention
* Oh my
* Shoot
* Whoa
* Excuse me
The twelve phrases always appear in the same order, regardless of the dialog box or even if you first bring one dialog box and then another. If you restart the application, PiD resumes the list where it left off; or so it seems. The phrases are also present in both versions of the demo.
PS I tried to send this message first to Hamish Sinclair, but Trinity's server replied, "Never heard of him."
