That's right, I did talk to you about calculus way back when. How's your algebra? If you understand the basics of algebra, calculus is just a simple extension. Unfortunately, it's hard to teach someone by e-mail. I was fortunate to have a physics professor at a local college who gave up his Saturdays to teach higher math and physics to high school students who didn't want to wait for college. He helped a lot of us reach our potential. In any case, math is more John Sumner's realm - John, do you know of any good books for kids who don't need to be spoon-fed math at a snail's pace? If not, I'll try to dig up some of Dr. Dixon's old handouts and see if they're enough to get you started.

Sodding's tough, but since I'm not a vidmaster, I don't make bones about not succeeding. I know I now have the skills to vid almost anything if I want to. What I don't have is the time to make it my obsession.

I haven't tried it yet myself. Playing solo is one thing, but I'm not sure I want to fall into the black hole of competitive thonning.

At the risk of deflating Forrest's ego, Eternal is OK. There are some levels that are really good, and some that really suck. The strength of Eternal is it's story, and we're going over that right now. If there's one new scenario you absolutely have to play, it's Phoenix Falling. It's only for M1 right now, but it is easily in the same league as Trojan and even the original M1. It's an absolute must-play.

Good to know you're still in the game, so to speak. And again, could I release your Rubicon-textured vidmaster challenge levels to the general public? No guarantee I'll do it right away since the terminals have to be redone, but they're a blast to play - a very different experience than the original Infinity versions.
