In Response To: Banshees- Can you kill the pilot? (OoACoO) : Just wondering- can you kill the pilot of a Banshee so that it crashes,
Here's my educated theory... Even if you get the Covie to fall out of the ship (has happened before by getting the ship to twist the right way, I've read here I think) the ship is 'tagged' as unflyable by humans. This is due to the map... you get in a banshee, and you can fly higher than the limits of the map, or break parts of the script. Like the second level, Halo. If you got the Banshee at the beginning, you'd expect to be able to fly above to any of the 4 different waypoints (the initial alien confrontation w/marines, and then the other 3 waypoints) However, the forced move into the tunnel and light bridge helps hide the level loading that occurs in between sections of the map. The only areas where you can succeed in grabbing a banshee is only in maps where it's been designed for player-banshee flying in the first place. I'd love to hear any opposing theories, but I think the above makes the most sense. |
