Using the rally point bravo Phantom in Sierra 117
Posted By: RocksliderDate: 7/23/11 10:27 a.m.

I've just posted a long article about Using the rally point bravo Phantom in Sierra 117 - the one near the crashed Pelican. It revolves around how to make the ship accessible, how to then ride it across the river, and what you can do once you're over there. The highlight for me was to find that you can actually go all the way around to the dam area and find it populated by enemies and Marines, including a passive chieftain. Lots to play about with there, which I plan to devote a separate article to.

As usual my concern is exclusively single-player, though it was actually a co-op video which got me started on this stuff. I think the article makes a few useful contributions to what's gone before, including an explanation of the business of making the ship accessible. In fact I give a different recipe for doing that, in light of my investigation using Theater mode. There's also an alternative method of getting through the invisible elastic barrier, which involves manning a cannon.

PS: My previous article Using the jail Phantom now includes a section on how to ride the ship away to the distant hillside, which I think is a first for single-player. Among other things, you can then enjoy flipping it about! See the final section.
