Note that the shot is being fired with a sniper rifle. The player is a long, long, long way from the Commander; the Commander knows the general direction the shot came from but can be forgiven for not spotting the player instantly. Had he lived a fraction of a second longer, he'd have spotted the player and done something. Commanders, speaking in a general sense, don't have to take cover from you too often; it's quicker and easier for them to run to wherever you happen to be and annihilate you. Anyone who doubts this should stand still at the end of a long hall, continuously fire your assault rifle at an approaching Commander, and see how much good it does you. Which brings up another point: whoever was playing in this footage was playing at something less than the normal difficulty level. It's not that easy, folks. -Matt | |
