Halo at the TGS

I tuned into xbox.jp just in time to catch a hot Japanese chick talking about Halo. Well at least I'm pretty sure it was, it was one of the only intelligible words coming out of her mouth. But back on subject. After a short intro, she grabs an Xbox controller and the footage starts rolling on a giant screen (Very dark, hard to make out details).

It begins with the "Schwartzeneger scene" Joe was mumbling about: Up comes a dropship. a grunt sees it, runs off screaming. The Cyborg hops off, starts kicking ass and taking names. Running through corridors indors marked ever-so-conveniently with glowing arrows. Saw a yellow covenant commander make a leap of about 30 ft, brandishing I think an energy sword. The lady pumps a whole lot of munitions into him, watch the sheild effect dissipate, take a few more rounds and keel over. Complete w/twitch.

Nice, never before heard music, electric guitars and such (I think). Marty, (if you're reading this) you've outdone yourself. The sounds and music in Halo are really something. And judging from the yelps and excited sounds coming from the hosts, the game is too.

Later on, the Covenant finally manage to hit her (must have been playing on V. Easy mode) An elite makes a nasty slice with a energy sword, neatly loping her health in two. Ouch. All in all a very lo-res but full of promise glimpse into the world of Bungie's masterpiece. I hope they rebroadcast or put the file up on their site.

Dammit, why does November 15 have to be so far away?
