Does Xbox use sterio or real suround?

I don't thnik you know what EAX means, it can deliver both 2x2 and 5.1 digital. When I use Dolby on a TV it decodes the sterio sound into 5.1 but it's stil sterio just spread around you in 5 speakers instead of 2. EAX is made in chanels from start.

I was wondering if Xbox uses a similar system as EAX or if it's still sterio.
