I hate to get preachy, but for gods sack we brought this upon ourselves! We who took what little information we were given and foolishly took every bit of market speak to be gospel! Perhaps we were led, but we were certainly led willingly! Now I can't really say that Halo wasn't the game I thought it would be, or even what I think it will be, mostly because I came to realize I don't have the game even the miniscule amount of playtime I got at E3 was not enough to have a good idea what kind of game it is. So basically whine away but you don't have my sympathy, this was not Bungie alone doing this you brought it on yourself as well. If you have a vision of a game go make the fucker don't wait for someone else to make it for you!
