: What about crash damage? I've noticed that a healthy warthog usually doesnt
: take damage if it lands on its wheels after a jump, but shoot the bumper
: so that it hangs down, and when you land a jump you'll take damage if the
: back of the hog comes down hard. And the marines shed blood and question
: my driving skills. What's up with that? I assume its because the bumper
: slams into the ground and the bumper counts as a damagable area. I haven't
: tried this in multiplayer, but it seems like a swinging bumper could
: possibly be your undoing if your shields are down!

I think that it's all about how high you are when you land. I've played through outskirts several times and made some perfect landings only to have my marines spew blood and curse at me. On other occasions I've done the same exact thing off the same exact jump and they worship me. Yes, what's up with that.

Is there a technique to hog jumping? for me it is just approaching the ramp straight and keeping the direction arrow straight and it turns out fine. can you change where the warthog flys by messing with the direction arrow in flight? I don't think you would be able to because your wheels are no longer in contact with the ground. Another thing, how do you jump the ghost perfect? I always have problems with ghost jumping. Sometimes I make it and sometimes I don't.
