In Response To: New Detail Halo Only Clips at my Site! (JosephAW) Hmm... At last we see the fabled aiming system. It appears to be two rings, one somewhat more distant from the other, extending forward on the axis of the current weapon's line of fire. It looks very effective at the moment, I had no trouble seeing where the current gun was pointed. We see two celestial bodies, a very large one and a smaller one off in the distance. Their position relative to the Halo might help to figure out the real layout of the system. There's a large, white object that doesn't quite look like the Covenant base in the Incite movie. Perhaps it's an escape pod from the Pillar of Autumn, but of course it could also be a placeholder. The interface is visible... While the Marine fires his small machine gun, the white bar second in from the right moves, and eventually dwindles to zero, at which point the Marine reloads. Yes! Clip management! Unfortunately the bar vanishes when the Marine switches to the minigun. The large circular display on the left seems to have several functions. It rotates along witht he camera, indicating direction, and the pattern within it seems to be more complex than a simple gleam. This can be seen later on as the pattern actually shifts while the jeep is bouncing along. Could it be a "live" birds'-eye view? When the MArine reloads his rocket launcher, he seems to take the rocket from the large boxy thing on the RL itself. Visible ammo after all? The BAT! The Marine can be seen running up to it, then climbing onto its hood and disappearing through the hatch. However, the cannon starts to move as soon as he touches the tank. This seems to indicate that the "climbing on the tank" sequence is not under the player's control; that the controls instantly switch to the tank as soon as he comes near enough; and that getting in or out of a vehicle will leave enough "dead time" to be strategically important. If you're trying to make a getaway, you'd better jump in something that doesn't take too long to start up ;) Then we see a grndsprctcrft showing us what it can do. The plane seems to be trying to go in the direction the camer's pointing, which keeps changing as the camera spins. Something hard to see as the movie fades out is that as the grndsprcrft swoops past, two flickering lights can be seen on it's front. Did we just miss a chance to see the craft's gun in action? |
