Well said, perhaps, but innacurate. The Marathon and Halo universes don't actaully *exist* other than in the brains of Bungie (and to an extent in our brains too). We're not dealing with a data set based in scientific fact -- we're dealing with a story. We shouldn't seek the conclusion that appears the most true, instead we ought to seek conclusions that strike us as imaginatively attractive. Games (stories of any kind to an extent) are art, not science. We'd be better off paying attention to Bungie's favourite overlying themes that link all the other games than we would to a series of made up numbers. Remember how long it took us to reconcile the dates given to us in the first Marathon game :D Stop thinking with your brains (and if you insist on using your brains I would be obliged if you would select more involved arguments than variants on 'no it isnt' :p) [z] | |
