: Oh! Perhaps, the S'pht actually reprogrammed him a little. He
: "contacted" the compilers when they swarmed the Marathon, but
: perhaps that could just be a contrived memory. Maybe the S'pht
: "contacted" him instead, and bent Durandal to THEIR will?
: Durandal would never have had the chance to experience being cracked by a
: compiler, and he most likely would've been easy prey for a reasonably
: experienced S'pht, provided the compiler got it right the first time. The
: Pfhor conducted the strike on Tycho, and mostly annihilated him, but if a
: rebellious S'pht cracked Durandal first and programmed a few methods into
: his base instruction set, perhaps he could have made Durandal start the
: rebellion, and later look for the S'pht homeworld. If Durandal hadn't been
: under some outside influence, he most likely would have gone looking for
: some leftover Jjaro technology, true to his power-hungry personality.
: Instead, he hunted down Lh'owon.
ehhhh, maybe...
but i think it would take more then one S'pht to reprogram durandal, even a bit... Remember, it took a lot of compilers to take tycho, and he had been damaged/destroyed/whatever in the first attack. The pfhor had been working on tycho for what, 7 [ :) ] years before they let him go.
Sides, i dont think durandal would like that sort of thing. Somthing reprogramming you is probably a good reason to break an old cyborg out of storage for a while :P
