I don't throw away papers without checking if there is anything important there. Because I am so absent-minded that I would put my own fingers in my socks if I didn't use them all the time, typing on a keyboard or controlling video game characters. : Make the effort to actually pick things up and see what is underneath. I'm ahead of you, I have checked every cubic inch of the room (thrice!) without finding it. By the way, don't you always find it irritating that there isn't a word called "thrice?" (Once, twice, thrice...) I can't help but use it all the time.... =)
