In the "Shapes" file, resource .256, ID 151, there are names for Marathon scenery objects (as opposed to Alien scenery objects) starting at index 0x799. At index 0xAED there are 12 objects labeled "Barney meets Godzilla". Before that index all of the labels cover all of the objects that we know of, so the "Barney meets Godzilla" objects are unimplemented. What's odd is that I don't see another .256 resource with unimplemented objects (although a few have their names suffixed with remnants of the "Barney meets Godzilla"). So why the extra room only in 151? One possibility is that the original plans called for many more scenery objects on the Marathon levels, which is not likely in my view. If it were true for the Marathon scenery objects, why not for other shapes? The other more likely possibility is that they just wanted the flexibility to add special scenery objects for whatever missions Leela or Durandal was sending you on without having to have to rebuild the file every time they added a special object. That's all. I didn't say it was exciting, mind you. It's just more information.
