Not that it will help much ;).

I propose that perhaps Jason is stating with tounge in cheek that Bungie's inspiration is insanity, chaos, and random mythological or local references. The common thread throughout all the games are the bizaare tidbits thrown in to give Bungie story-watchers something to work with. I haven't given much thought to this yet, as I am quite tired and logged on for the soul purpose of reading the JJ interview. Somebody with a fresher head should analyze that answer ;0.
