I can't really argue with this as the only thing that contradicts it is my pet theory that we go back to the original universe at the end. : A couple of things make me suspect this: at the start of M2, the Minor River
There's a simpler solution: We went back to the Marathon 2 universe (at an earlier time). At the time, I think I suggested that Durandal simply flooded the river in both universes, using the same tactics by coincidence. : Then again, in M2 it's never adequately explained how Durandal escaped
We could say that the Marine finishes YTYBT, find the answer to the question, goes WAY back in time to Begging for Mercy, gets Durandal's, primal pattern, the rest of M2 re-unfolds as the second half of Infinity did, and the player only rejoins the Marine as he reaches Aye Mak Sicur. | |
