To me, that was a bit of a disappointment. If there's an urgency to it, then provide consequences for taking your time. Rubicon does this nicely in Hairy Legs, where the main reactor blows if you don't shut it down in time, and you enter a different plank than you would if you had succeeded. Perhaps Aye Mak Sicur was taxing the Moo engine as was, but it would have been neat if failing to complete the level in time had taken the player back to an earlier level, such as YTYBT, to make them do it over.

As you know, M1A1 is your only option. Hopefully, it will be fully ported. It's not really the same game in many respects, but it will give you a sense of the story.

YES!!! It is so frustrating to see the A1 development community working on lots of gee-wiz effects, 3-D objects, high-res textures, intricate scriptability etc. Just give me a stable, playable version that's at least as good as Moo, with basic OpenGL features where practical, and full implementation on all platforms. You want Win32 - I want OS X. The current release of the carbon version is completely unplayable, unless you can play while constantly spinning around. When I wrote the author, he said he'd look into it, but that was a couple of months ago! I occasionally use the previous release, but the HUD doesn't work and I therefor have no motion sensor or knowledge of how much shielding, O2 or ammo I have left. Even the best OS9 release has problems in the classic environment of OS X. Such is the downside of open source - it's often no source!
