I don't : think he is referring to himself as a merged mind (in the Marathon 2 : universe his merger never happened, that was in a different universe and : the merged entity was only relevant to the plot for as long as it took to : tell the Marine about the Jjaro station). I don't know, I think that the merger did take place. If you look at the last line "To you, we are deeply grateful, and release what little hold we might, as Durandal, have had on your soul. Go." I think the phrase "As Durandal" clenches it. Who ever is talking to us is acknowledging that it once was, or a part of it was Durandal. Well, still Hats off to you Mark for a job well done.
