I believe, according to what Monitor says, the 'flood' CAN be destroyed,
but the ancient creaters of the Halo were kind enough to keep a few
specimens around "for purely scientific purposes, of course".
Although why the Covvies didn't destroy the specimens when they found
them, I have no idea.
Also, even with the Xbox's beautiful Dolby stereo, I'm still not sure if the
name is 'Flood' or 'Flub'. Wasn't 'flub' an integral part of Niven's Ringworld?
I forget the exact name and my Ringworld books are out on loan.
