: Ah yes, Beowulf. Cortana describes him as a paranoid AI, which matches the
: paranoid attitude of the ONI. She hacks into the ONI database with ease,
: though.

And manages to piss Beowulf off greatly in the process; now, I haven't played Halo either, but from Halo:TFoR, it seems that AIs are smart (or foolish...take your pick) enough to hold grudges against each other. Could Beowulf have stolen its way aboard the Pillar of Autumn without ONI even knowing about it? Probably. Would it have? Probably. But ONI probably told it to anyway...ONI and Cortana didn't get along very well, and, considering the PoA was going off on a particularly sensitive mission right before the Covenant assault on Reach...well, it just seems that they'd want their own inside eyes. Which means...
When the PoA crashes on the Halo, Cortana escapes in the back of the Master Chief's helmet...but what happens to Beowulf? Does it get stuck on board? And thus...the Cole Protocol broken? We know how far they went in Halo: The Fall of Reach to avoid breaking the Cole Protocol; the Master Chief takes TWO of his extremely valuable Spartans to go and destroy the nav database on that one privately owned ship in the orbital dock around Reach. He loses them both in the process....So. Does this mean a mission where we have to go back to the wreckage of the PoA (we must assume that there's SOMETHING left...after all, we've seen a screenshot of Captain Keyes inside something that is definitely not the PoA. And he said he was going "down with the ship" so to speak. Unless he was captured)? Back to get Beowulf?
I sure hope so.
