You are the hound, an alien which was originally intended to accompany the Hunter. The Hound was later found as a wall texture (hence: "Nailed to the wall") The howl is what was stolen. In the original Marathon the Hunters howl, a sound that was originally intended for the Hound. This sound was later discarded in M2, (hence: "Threw it away")
