Apparently the S'pht doors were screwed up (fixed in the PC version). They should split in two when opening.

In the M2 Preview it was possible to obtain the rocket launcher using the cheater prog. and blast yourself through the windows into the large open pool areas. I know I did it way back in July 95. May be still possible in the full game.
