In Response To: Volunteers: Ain't Got Time Pfhor This (Mark Levin)

: You stat off next to a 2x health charger, which you will probably need very
: badly after the previous level. Do NOT clear your clip here, or a pile of
: Wasps will rise from the slime (to which they are apparently immune, as
: they are also immune to the lava on the Marathon) and butter your muffin.
: The network of slime canals they live in is actually quite complex, too
: bad there's no way to explore it (I don't believe there is ever enough
: space to grenade hop out of it).

Mark's comments reminded me of a couple of things about this level. I probably "feared" the beginning of this level more than any other spot in Marathon. Why? Because if you have ever sweated through "Pfhoraphobia" on Total Carnage, then you know there is no time to breathe a sigh of relief until you reach that PB on "Ain't Got Time For This". If you screw up the beginning of this level, not only is your muffin buttered, but you have to do "Pfhoraphobia" all over again :( That happened to me more times than i care to remember. Talk about frustration! What was Bungie thinking??? :)

Secondly, i have actually wandered around all of those slime canals. It's very hard to see down there, but there is a way to escape. You have low gravity on this level, so it's very easy to get out using the Napalm Gun IF you can see where the ledge above you is located. I believe the spoiler guide for Marathon also mentions that as a way to get back to the 2x recharger, though i usually just used a grenade hop.
