Poses some problems. : Maybe she's NOT reflected and is between us and the wall, looking to our left : and up. That would explain the pink glow around her better, and why she : appears over the wall stump. The reason she appears to be against/through : the orange dots and the screens the way she does, is because she's : transparent. Transparent things look different against different colors. : We're standing (crouching?) in front of her, looking up at her and past her : to a black shiny wall with information on in. In that wall is reflected : the room behind us with the pillars, those 3 screens (2 facing down to pit : below), the windows, and the Halo and it's planet. The part below the blue : line on the black shiny wall, is a non-shiny part of wall. That's why we : see none of the other stuff reflected in it, but we do see Cortana's legs : against it - she's between us and it. : This one also explains why Cortana is so much more colorful than the : background: she's not reflected; she's just very transparent. : Also this solves all the problems of her reading information.. she's instead : looking out at someone, possibly the captain, or a pilot, or whatever. Very interesting theory.. but there could be two holes in it. First, why can't we see a reflection of Cortana or (assuming we are in fact seeing things from his perspective) the Master Chief in the mirror? Since the angle of the image allows us to see the wall that, if there was a mirror, would be behind and to the right of us, it would seem that we should be able to see everything within the room that was within the upper and lower edges of the mirror. Second, assuming the faint grid is part of the shiny wall, why does it cover the two downward facing screens? The only way to get around that would be if the screens were being reflected from behind us in the back of the room, and if that were true then the writing on them would have to be backwards when viewed properly, which seems unlikely. Making an addendum to my own theory, the stub of a wall could be the bottom support for either a plate of glass or other transparent material, or a force field (hence the blue strip). I just wish I could read the writing on the third screen in the background. Oh, if only we had a tiff..
