I don't know Hamish, as much as Sci-Fi can be out there, and some of the links that we have made with games and characters and such in the bungie universe have seemed rather forced, this is really a bit of a stretch.
On the other hand, I'm more interested in the "Combat Evolved" bit. It seems as if this is a slugline that they've come up with for the game. But, the way that its placed on that graphic, it looks almost as if it were part of the title. I think that the effect that they were going for was more of a sentance... like.. "Combat evolved." (With a period at the end).. I don't know, it just doesn't look right to me, it looks almost as if they're changing the name of the game, and the lack of the period at the end leaves it open to much speculation as to what emphasis should be put on what word, which in turn slightly affects the connotation.
Of course, i could be looking into this waaay too much :)
