: planets that can support life (like Lh'owon), and thus set up colonies on
: other planets. Halo probably takes place some time long after Marathon
: 2... which leaves more potential for Halo's story.
That's what I always thought... that it would have to be post-Marathon 2 because humanity didn't get FTL drive until Durandal gave it to them in the time between Marathon and Marathon 2. But now we're being told 26th century... well, there's two possibilities:
1) Halo is Marathon-esque, but not actually part of the Marathon timeline. It takes place in a different universe.
2) Whoever wrote the poem meant to say 29th century but accidentally hit the "6" key which is right below the "9" key on the numeric keypad. ;)
