In Response To: Marathon-Terminal themed Kaleidoscope scheme? (Ernie)

: Was there ever in creation a Marathon-terminal themed (i.e: looking like the
: terminals from Marathon) Scheme created for The Mac interface control
: pannel Kaleidoscope?

: I'm in the process of getting the software side of the terminal ready. I've
: been working through the how-to of creating the molded faceplate (out of
: styrafoam sm, the blue stuff usually used for insulating, but also used in
: many art colleges) with the fellows over at the applefritter.com 's Hack
: forums. There of great help, and they coincidentally love Marathon. Woo!

On your page you mention the possibility of Marathon-based MacOS 8.5
themes. While that might be possible (if Apple decides the make public the
theme file format) an easier (and doable now) way to give your Mac a
marathon look is to use Kaleidoscope. I believe that there was a Marathon
scheme for Kaleidoscope 1.x, but due to the limitations of that version
(rectangular windows only) it didn't look too impressive. Kaleidoscope 2.0
allows you to do irregular windows, but there are no Marathon-based
schemes yet. Two schemes that aren't Marathon related, but do evoke
somewhat its atmosphere are Boilerplate and Tephra, both available here:

Hope this helps.
