Meanwhile, I was busy trying to track down the exact ship dates for Minotaur and Pathways. Minotaur may be hopeless because there is so little online written about it. To find Pathways ship date I'm scanning Google Newsgroups and am looking for the point where people stop talking about the demo and start mentioning the 'real' game. So far I'm beginning to believe that Bungie was wrong when they said it was August 1993. The actual ship date may be September 1, 1993.

Anyway, one of the things I got sidetracked on was reading all of Jason Jones' newsgroup posts. Check out this post (the earliest one I can find).

At the bottom he says:

IMHO, in the next two years you'll see more and more Macintosh games which begin to rival those on the PC.

The date on the message was Sept 15, 1992. Jason must have known what he was talking about, because by Sept 15, 1994 Bungie had released Pathways into Darkness and was already hard at work on Marathon.

Talk about insider information! ;)
